After a long wait, The Walking Dead season 10 finale has a release date

Not many episodes of The Walking Dead have ever been as highly anticipated as the season 10 finale. Sure, there are lots of things to look forward to in the biggest episode of the season, but it was the episode’s unplanned delay that ended the season abruptly, leaving a massive cliffhanger where one shouldn’t have existed. Until now.

The wait is finally over.

During The Walking Dead’s panel at Comic-Con at Home, Angela Kang announced that the long-awaited season finale will air on Sunday, October 4. It’s going to be a very exciting month for the TWD Family given that season 6 of Fear TWD will follow with its premiere on October 11.

The end of the show’s tenth season has felt incomplete as a result of the missing episode. Of course, the episode’s delay couldn’t be helped due to the impact that novel coronavirus had on the filming industry. While TWD shoots in Georgia, post-production takes place in Los Angeles and things have been at a standstill for months in the Golden State. Even still, it’s something of a miracle to think that the episode will be finished given the continued struggle to get back into editing bays at the moment.

Not only is editing and post-production inching along, but filming on season 11 will continue to be delayed until the virus slows its pace, or a vaccine comes along. At this rate, there is no telling when fans might see season 11.

With a supersized finale now planned, fans have even more reasons to be excited about the finale. The Whisperer War is coming to an end, characters’ fates are up in the air and Maggie Rhee is returning to save the day.
