The Walking Dead: World Beyond finally has a series premiere date

Thanks to the madness that is 2020, The Walking Dead’s newest spinoff, World Beyond, was shifted from an April series premiere date to later on in the year. The series premiere date was announced during the show’s panel at Comic-Con at Home.

AMC surprised fans by announcing that The Walking Dead season 10 finale will air on Sunday, October 4 at 9pm and will be followed immediately by the series premiere of World Beyond at 10pm. Fear TWD will premiere on Sunday, October 11, so those two shows will air back to back through most of the season.

World Beyond was originally scheduled to premiere immediately following The Walking Dead season 10 finale. Both episodes would have aired during WonderCon in April, with a special screening of the World Beyond pilot planned for the pop culture convention in Anaheim. When the show was pushed back due to the pandemic, it left fans wondering even more about the newest show in the TWD Universe.

As a limited series, World Beyond will feature two seasons. The first season will have 10 episodes, and though all three shows in the TWD Universe feature the same mysterious helicopters with the three circle emblem, it remains unclear how they will all be connected. Furthering the mystery is the fact that Rick Grimes was transported away from Alexandria in one of those helicopters. That’s more than a coincidence.

There’s no doubt that the excitement for the newest series is building, and thankfully fans will finally have a chance to see it later this year.
