The time is right for Fear TWD season 6 to be very dark

After six seasons, Fear TWD is ready to slip back into dark territory in October

The zombie apocalypse is already a dark place, and over the years Fear TWD fans have seen some pretty low points for the group of survivors. But after all of this time, the stakes have never been higher. The group has formed a bond and now they have been torn apart, and the odds of coming together again aren’t in their favor. As such, this is the perfect time for Fear TWD season 6 to take a dark turn.

Shows in The Walking Dead Universe have always always done a dance with death. It’s a show about zombies and the apocalypse, after all. But when it comes to deaths, both The Walking Dead and Fear TWD have periods of time with little bloodshed punctuated with moments where several people lose their lives.

For the past two seasons Fear TWD has not seen a ton of death. Sure, Madison “died” and Nick died, and various characters have died here and there, but we haven’t seen a lot of death since season 3. With so many characters who have come together as a family, season 6 seems to be the right time to put them through their paces, much the same as the TWD season 7 premiere went incredibly dark and killed off two main characters in the blink of an eye.

There hasn’t been a major death on Fear TWD since the show lost Nick and Madison, so in that sense they’re “due” for a major loss.

Then again, with the characters being split apart from each other, the real tragedy would come if they manage to find their way back and then lose someone in the process.

Either way, season 6 will very likely see more loss of life than the past two seasons.

While it’s always hard to lose favorite characters, when it comes to a show about the apocalypse it’s an unfortunate necessity. Season 6 is the perfect time to shake things up in a serious way because so much of season 4 and 5 were building to this moment, and what happens in season 6 will likely lay the foundation for what happens in upcoming seasons.
