AMC announces season one of The Walking Dead will re-air this Sunday.

Although we don’t have long to wait for the season ten finale of The Walking Dead on October 4, fans can never get enough of this series. AMC knows this and has decided to re-air season one on August 30, beginning at 6 pm EST.

AMC will air all six episodes, “Days Gone Bye,” “Guts,” “Tell it to the Frogs,” “Vatos,” “Wildfire,” and the season finale “TS-19.” These are the original episodes that got fans hooked on the series and are some of the best episodes that set up the tone of the series.

AMC took to Twitter to remind fans about the airing of this marathon.

The marathon is entitled “Season 1: Beginnings,” and fans will get to relive the episodes that started it all. There is so much to look back on in season one and so many characters that have died along the way.

In the very beginning, we saw Rick Grimes wake from a coma to a world he wasn’t expecting. Upon leaving the hospital, he encounters reanimated corpses that were dubbed Walkers, as well as fan-favorite Morgan Jones and his son Dwayne. Ultimately Rick is looking for his family in this new world. As the first season goes on, there are many highs and lows drawing us into the lives of the characters we meet along the way. Two of the characters, Daryl and Carol, are still with around in season ten, but sadly the rest are gone.

The excitement keeps building in The Walking Dead universe, first with the announcement of the season ten finale, that has been on hold due to the filming shutdowns. Next, it was announced that the premiere of the second spin-off series, The Walking Dead: World Beyond will air immediately following the season ten finale of the original series on October 4.  Additionally,  Fear The Walking Dead will start its sixth season on October 11.

AMC has also announced that filming for The Walking Dead could resume as early as October.  It is unclear if this filming will be for season eleven or the six bonus episodes that were announced at Comic-Con at home this summer.
