Cover art for The Walking Dead Deluxe issues #2 and #3 have been revealed

In October new and old fans of The Walking Dead comic series will get to experience the series in a special way. Each month a new fully colored Deluxe run will be released two issues at a time. November will be a special time as The Walking Dead #2 and #3 are released and Skybound has given us a special look into the art on the covers.

The artwork teased by Skybound shows the classic covers for #2 and #3, with some very key differences. Those differences include a slightly tweaked logo with the addition of the word Deluxe, the addition of the Skybound logo, a sleeker-looking Image logo, and the name of the new colorist Dave McCaig.

The artwork on the classic style covers remains largely the same, however, it seems the artwork is sharper and the colors are subtly different. The first run issue #2 leans to a yellow hue, and the new leans to orange. The first run #3 has a brighter more white background and the characters stand out with an orange glow, and the new Deluxe has no glow but a blue background framing the characters nicely.

Like most comics and art that are involved in a long-running series, you can tell a difference in style from beginning to end. Also with new people joining the team along the way, there is bound to be change. However, in the new art revealed, there is a very classic feeling to it. Which is very nice for old fans coming back for the second round of action.

These stunning covers will be available in your local comic stores in November. Issue #2 will be available on November 4th and issue #3 will be available on the 18th. Collecting these issues and all of the variants will be a fun and exciting journey for many fans, whether just joining the comic universe or adding to a growing collection.
