Sometimes it’s hard to remember that Woodbury wasn’t really that bad of a place. Sure, the Governor was ruthless when it came to getting supplies and keeping his people safe, but the people of the community were only trying to live their lives as normally as possible.

Milton was conducting some experiments on the undead and tried to find out if there is any humanity at all left in the monsters. He also questioned some of the decisions made by the Governor when other survivors in the community wouldn’t.

Having lost both his parents as a kid and never having a romantic relationship made him a bit awkward around other humans. Perhaps those are reasons he was so curious about the walkers and was happy to lend his services to Woodbury.

Working with the Governor would be his downfall. The leader of Woodbury stabbed him in the gut multiple times and locked him in a room so he would turn into a walker and devour Andrea. Milton turned and attacked Andrea, biting her on the neck.

Milton could have been great for helping communities grow by lending his intelligence to groups much like Eugene does for Alexandria. Spreading out that burden would have taken some pressure off Eugene and allow the communities and let the two work together to help them prosper.
