Here’s why Connie should be in the season 10 finale of The Walking Dead

Despite only joining the show in season 9, Connie has garnered a massive fanbase onThe Walking Dead. The character – and actress, Lauren Ridloff – are inspirations, providing some much-needed representation for the hard-of-hearing community on-screen. Whether it’s her kind heart or motivational support for the people around her, viewers and characters alike are drawn to Connie. So, when Connie disappeared for the latter part of season 10 after being trapped in the cave collapse caused by Carol, fans were disappointed, to say the least.

While nothing is confirmed as of right now, many fans are hopeful that Connie will show up in episode 1016, the season 10 finale. Her reappearance would come at a time when her friends and family need it most, as the final battle of the Whisperer War is about to begin. Connie is a hardened survivor who has shown incredible strength to last this long in the zombie apocalypse, so there’s little reason to believe that the cave would be her demise. With so many characters desperate to see her again, Connie has to come back sooner rather than later, right?

Without further ado, let’s look at three reasons why Connie should show up in The Walking Dead season 10 finale!

1. She’s a survivor

Living through a zombie apocalypse for around 10 years is a remarkable feat for anyone still standing on the show. Connie doesn’t let anything stop her from surviving and protecting her loved ones. Even in a time that can easily drive people mad and make them lose their humanity, Connie continues to be a bright spark in a dark world. She has compassion even for those she doesn’t know, like Lydia in season 9, and her empathy and understanding for others who are distressed, like Carol when they were trapped in the cave, make her one of the strongest people on the show currently.

If Connie is going to die, it is going to be on her terms, fighting for and protecting the people she cares about. She’s been through too much and survived too long just to be taken out by a cave collapse. Hopefully, Connie will appear in the season 10 finale to calm any nerves that she would suffer an off-screen death.

2. The group needs help

As thousands of walkers surround the abandoned hospital and with nearly all of the survivors trapped inside, things are not looking good. Beta is out for blood, and he will stop at nothing to avenge Alpha’s death. The survivors are going to need all the help they can get if they are going to make it out with as few losses as possible.

While we haven’t seen a ton of Connie in combat outside of episode 913 “Chokepoint,” it is safe to assume that she would be of great assistance to the survivors considering she’s lasted this long in the apocalypse. With her slingshot in hand, Connie can help clear a path for escape for a few people at least. Couple that with her strategic genius and ability to calm people down in stressful moments, and Connie is an invaluable asset for the survivors.

3. Reuniting with Daryl and Kelly

Connie and Daryl have shared a special connection since they journeyed together to rescue Henry and Lydia from the Whisperers in season 9. While the duo seemed like an odd pair at first, their on-screen dynamic was fun to watch and led to many fans shipping “Donnie” as a potential future couple. Regardless of whether or not their relationship turns romantic or not, fans are dying to see Connie and Daryl finally reunite.

The other person who will be happiest to see Connie is her sister, Kelly. When Daryl was initially distraught and in tears right after the cave collapse, Kelly was the one who stayed strong and urged the rest of the group to get moving before it was too late. The two sisters have been through a whole lot together throughout the apocalypse, and it would be a shame to not see more of that dynamic until season 11.

After countless episodes of brutal fighting and PTSD ravaging the group of survivors, fans need to see a moment of the survivors feeling happy and hopeful, and Connie reuniting with Daryl and Kelly in the season 10 finale will give them just that.

There’s no denying that Connie is a fan-favorite character since the moment she joined Daryl on the rescue mission to save Henry in season 9. Fans would be delighted to see her show up in the season 10 finale, so we can only hope that she pops back up after missing much of the middle part of the season.
