A new season 10 finale trailer teases epic final battle

October 4 can’t come soon enough. Fans have been waiting months to finally see the conclusion to season 10 of The Walking Dead, and the time has almost come. A new teaser trailer was just released by FOX over in the United Kingdom, and it features a quick look at some new scenes from the episode.

Episode 1016 has been hyped up for months as the final battle in the Whisperer War, and there have been hints at “major deaths” made by showrunner Angela Kang. There’s no doubt that the season finale is going to be action-packed from start to finish, so it’s very exciting to get a little tease of what’s to come.

The teaser starts off with Gabriel seemingly outlining the plan for the survivors to escape using an old trick that goes all the way back to season 1 – cover themselves in walker guts and slowly work their way through the horde. Daryl then claims that they aren’t all going to make it out alive, giving Judith an emotional goodbye before heading off into the horde of zombies and Whisperers alike.

Next, we get a look at Eugene and the Commonwealth group in despair. It seems likely that they missed the meeting time with Stephanie’s group, and now the scheduled meetup is in jeopardy.

The trailer then quickly flashes to a worried Judith and Gabriel claiming that “They’re coming up,” which most likely means that the Whisperers make it inside the abandoned hospital before everybody gets out. Many fans have theorized that Gabriel will meet his end in this episode, so perhaps he will make a last stand of sorts to protect the children still trapped in the hospital.

The teaser concludes with a short but inspiring speech from Ezekiel, urging the rest of the Commonwealth group to keep fighting to finish the journey they set out to accomplish, saying that “This journey must be completed.” Despite everything Ezekiel has been through in recent seasons – from the losses of Henry, Benjamin, and Shiva, to the collapse of his Kingdom, to his cancer diagnosis – Ezekiel still stands strong and inspires others; a trait that has made him a fan favorite since he joined The Walking Dead.

Whether it’s the Commonwealth group, the survivors stuck around the abandoned hospital, or Maggie’s return to the show, there are plenty of storylines that are coming to a head in the season 10 finale. Fans will have to wait until October 4 to find out how it all concludes, but for now, teaser trailers like this one will have to suffice.
