Friends or foes: Fear TWD season 6 masked figure appears in new photo
One of the mysteries revealed in the Fear TWD season 6 trailer is the appearance of masked figures. A closer look reveals that the masked figures might not be people we have met thus far, which leaves even more questions than answers ahead of the October 11 season premiere.
In a recently released photo from season 6, a masked figure is holding Althea (Maggie Grace) at gunpoint and she doesn’t show any indication that she knows who her captor is. The masks are white, featureless save for the holes for the eyes and nose, and they can be seen riding beside the SWAT van.
There have been lots of theories floating around the internet about these masked figures and their identities, and this photo only serves to drum up more questions.
We know that Virginia and her people were the de facto villains in season 5 and that is likely to carry over to season 6, but does that mean these masked people are another set of enemies, or is it one of those situations where “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”?
Who Are The Masked Figures In Fear TWD Season 6?
With the world expanding in season 6 of Fear the Walking Dead, it makes sense to have multiple factions that may not like each other. Virginia has shown herself to be someone who marches to the beat of her own drum and a person’s survival in her community is based upon his worth. If you cease to be useful to the community then you are dead weight, and therefore expendable.
It’s possible that her system has led to friction among people deemed expendable – or their loved ones – and they’ve devised their own Robin Hood style of justice. The question, then, is where our survivors will land in the middle of all of this and whether they will have to fight the masked villains or join them.
What do you think? Who are these masked villains and what do they want? Let us know what you think in the comments, and be sure to tune in on Sunday, October 11 when Fear TWD returns for season 6.
