Tales of the Walking Dead anthology being developed for individual characters

The Walking Dead is making headlines with the recent announcements. First, season eleven will be the final season, and also the report that Daryl and Carol will be getting a spinoff series. Now, Scott M. Gimple has a fifth spinoff, Tales of the Walking Dead, in the works.

Tales of the Walking Dead will be a scripted series that will follow current and new characters in individual character arcs. This could consist of backstories or other standalone stories.

How exciting to think we could get stories of our favorites characters and what they were like or did up until their introduction to the series. We could find out who Jesus was ahead of the outbreak. Perhaps find out more about what made the Governor or Negan become so twisted. Maybe more on Deanna and the creation of Alexandria. The possibilities are endless. And fans are here for this!

The Walking Dead took to Twitter to make the announcements.

Fans have always longed for more storylines for their favorite characters. Tales of the Walking Dead will give them exactly what they asked for. And, since The Walking Dead Universe doesn’t only consist of the original series but Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead World Beyond, the stories could include these characters as well.

The Walking Dead is far from over since season eleven will consist of twenty-four episodes, and this will take us into 2022. And, if World Beyond is as good as reviewers have said, this series could also continue beyond its standalone season.

Fear The Walking Dead is still going strong in its sixth season and could easily continue with its storyline. Fear has developed a good fan base who would love to see this series continue.

Angela Kang will be at the helm of the Daryl and Carol spinoff, giving her a blank canvas to create something with some longevity. She could add additional fan-favorite characters as well.

Even though the announcements have brought some sadness, the fact that we still have much to look forward to in The Walking Dead world is exciting. There are still many stories to be told.

Next. The Walking Dead to end in 2022 with spinoffs, supersized season 11. dark

Be sure to catch the season ten finale of The Walking Dead on October 4, which will be immediately followed by the premiere of The Walking Dead World Beyond. Then Fear the Walking Dead season six will premier on October 11.
