7) The panic is real.

Ahhhh, panic, the very thing that inspired me to do this in the first place. I’m fairly convinced that nothing makes people more unintentionally dangerous than panic. Get enough panicking people in the right situation, and they’re a tornado.

Have you ever been to a subway station after a baseball game or a football game or anything like that? The platform is crammed with people, like, I’m talking wall-to-wall people. The train is even worse, as you can barely find room to stand, and there will easily be people squished up against the doors.

Well, imagine that, but, everyone is running around, not even waiting for the train, just jumping onto the tracks, hoping they can climb onto the platform before the dead can get to them, and, when the train arrives, they all rush for it, squishing people against the outside of the train, and trampling anyone who is unfortunate enough to be in their way.

The thing is, they aren’t trying to hurt people, but, they’re so terrified of what’s chasing them, that their flight reflex takes over their rational thoughts and anything else becomes secondary, even whether or not they’re trampling someone.

This makes large crowds very dangerous in a zombie apocalypse, and therefore, something you need to avoid as best as you possibly can, because, if you get stuck in one, it’s entirely up to chance whether you survive, as you could easily trip and get crushed, suffocate as the mob squeezes you into walls or other immovable objects, or get bitten by someone who’s turned in the middle of it!

Panic is one of the most dangerous things in a zombie apocalypse because it makes people behave like zombies: Mindlessly. It makes us act without thinking about what those actions might cause, either for ourselves or for other people, and, just like zombies, our mindlessness makes us a terribly destructive force. One you desperately need to stay away from.
