Podcast: IronE Singleton talks his acting school, The Walking Dead

TWD alum IronE Singleton joined us on the Undead Walking Podcast

For many fans, IronE Singleton is best known for his work as T-Dog on The Walking Dead or as the nefarious Alton in The Blind Side. Acting has always been near and dear to Singleton’s heart and that’s what makes his work at the IronE School of the Arts so special. Singleton stopped by the Undead Walking Podcast to talk about his passion of helping people unlock their potential.

Singleton shares the story of how he became an actor on the latest episode of the Undead Walking Podcast. It’s one where perseverance and focus in the face of insurmountable odds led to the biggest payoff of all. Singleton’s inspirational journey sounds like something out of a fairytale, and that’s why he’s so committed to helping other people to become actors or hone their skills.

The IronE School of the Arts is a place where Singleton can work one on one or in groups with actors to help them grow their craft. Thanks to COVID-19, classes have moved online but he notes that this has given him the opportunity to work with talented folks all over the world. When he’s not teaching, he’s interacting with fans and doing what he loves: Acting. Prior to the pandemic, Singleton was working on two projects that were in various stages of completion when production shut down. Safety, a movie headed to Disney+, is a film that Singleton describes as a combination of “The Blind Side, Remember the Titans and The Pursuit of Happyness.” He’s also starring in The Underground Railroad, a story adapted from Colson Whitehead’s seminal work. (There’s no word on when the movies will be released as of this writing, but we will keep you posted)
