The Walking Dead season 10 finale packs a powerful punch to end the season

Log on to any social media platform these days and whenever someone mentions The Walking Dead, there are invariably at least a handful (usually more) comments from people asking  if the show is still on. Yes, the show is still on, and The Walking Dead season 10 finale proves that after ten seasons the show is better than ever.

As soon as news that The Walking Dead season 10 finale was going to be delayed due to the pandemic, fans lamented the fact that everything would be up in the air for an uncertain amount of time. How much post-production could actually be needed on a single episode?

After screening the episode this week I can say with absolute certainty that this episode needs every bit of post-production because it’s an absolute masterpiece.

“A Certain Doom” manages to capture every single thing fans love about The Walking Dead and put it in one episode. Loose ends are tied up, new stories for the future are set up, there are edge of your seat thrills, lots of drama, tearjerker moments and even some well-placed (and much needed) laughs.

I can’t think of a more powerful or more perfect episode of the show after ten seasons. “A Certain Doom” is the new bar, plain and simple. Everything after this must live up to its lofty standards.

The Whisperer War is something that has been building for a long time. With Alpha dead and Beta on the warpath, the stage has been set for the battle royale. It’s a matter of how it all plays out. Survivors are trapped in the hospital with the horde bearing down on them. There are members of the group that are unaccounted for. How will they make it out?

Naturally, I can’t spoil what happens in the episode, but I think it’s worth saying that an episode has never felt as fulfilling as “A Certain Doom.” It has it all.
