2) We’re not all in this together

Consider this an addendum to our first entry, because this is an expansion on that idea.

You see, while it would make sense for the living to band together to get rid of the dead in a zombie apocalypse, the reality of the situation would not reflect that ideal.

Oh, sure, there will be people, even strangers, who will unite in the apocalypse to try to survive against the dead, but, if you think everyone is going to do it, you will be sadly mistaken. Like I said earlier, there are bad people out there, and they are not going to share any desires for any sort of common good. They may join other people, but, more likely than not, such groups will have shared goals of rape, pillage, plunder, subjugation, and destruction.

Think back to Dave and Tony’s group, or the people who attacked Terminus, or The Whisperers, yeah, they’re fictional, but, the idea of them is not. They were never going to side with another group, because they were simply out for their own ends, and, that is a reality you’re going to have to contend with.

The thing here is that you need to realize that, even if they’re not to the same extremes seen in those groups from The Walking Dead that I mentioned, there are going to be people you’ll meet in the apocalypse who, even if it might be a smarter idea, will never side with you against the dead, and, instead, choose to attack you.

You should always be on the look out for people who may want to help you, but, the sooner you realize that you can’t expect cooperation from everyone in the apocalypse, the more likely you are to stay alive.
