Podcast: Alycia Debnam-Carey previews Fear TWD season 6
Alycia Debnam-Carey talks about how Fear TWD season 6 will feel much different
The excitement for the upcoming season 6 premiere of Fear the Walking Dead is reaching a fever pitch. Our Sarabeth Pollock was able to chat with star Alycia Debnam-Carey during a February 2020 set visit about what’s to come in the new season. Now that the review embargo has lifted, you can listen to that interview in the Undead Walking Podcast.
Debnam-Carey talks about how the new anthology format allows actors to really “hone in” on their performances instead of trying to spread the story across the show’s large ensemble. She agrees that season 6 is very dark and she also describes it as “gruesome” and “macabre.”
She also talks about Alicia Clark’s evolution from teenager in season 1 to a bonafide leader in season 6. Fans will see Alicia stepping up and making decisions as a leader, which is something she has been preparing for all these years. Now is the time as she finds herself separated from her friends in a new and dangerous environment.
This was Debnam-Carey’s first season 6 interviews and it takes place mere weeks before production shut down due to COVID-19, so it’s a very interesting conversation knowing that things were about to change so much for everyone. After the delays, filming is finally about to resume and Fear TWD season 6 will premiere on Sunday, October 11.
