The Walking Dead, Survival Rule Of The Week: It’s ZOMBIE nature
By Liam O'Leary
The Walking Dead has shown a lot of the nature of zombies, if we pay attention.
In last week’s Survival Rule Of The Week, I tackled the various elements of human nature which, generally, cause people to behave in certain ways, and, how they pertain to a zombie apocalypse. I thought it was important: I believe that if we understand why people behave a certain way, we can either try to prevent bad things from happening, or, at the very least, spot the people who’ll do them before they happen.
That said, between that and some of the other rules I’ve been laying out over the last few weeks, I feel like I’ve neglected something important…the zombies.
You see, just like living people have a nature that is simply something we have to deal with, dead people have one, too, and, if we don’t understand it, we’re just as screwed as we would be if we failed to understand human nature.
…Considering that the dead would eat us alive, I’m inclined to think that failing to understand their nature would, actually, make us more screwed.
And, so, this week, I think I’m going to devote my efforts to helping everyone understand the nature of zombies, as best as I understand it, so that they know as many of the quirks of their behavior (Both obvious and not so obvious) as they can, and learn how to use that to their advantage.
