The Walking Dead, Survival Rule Of The Week: It’s ZOMBIE nature

7) Just one zombie is lethal.

So often, we see the massive hordes of zombies in movies, and TV shows, and whatnot, that we often forget, particularly in The Walking Dead, just how lethal one zombie can be.

Think about it: Jim, Dale, Andrea, Bob, Tyreese, Duane, Carl, all of them were killed, not by being torn apart by a horde of zombies, but, by being bitten by just one.

I always fear that, over time, people would get desensitized to lone zombies, and pay them no mind, thinking that, having dealt with them for so long, just one is nothing to worry about. I’m concerned about this because this is the kind of “false sense of security” stuff I’m always warning about.

Just because a zombie is alone doesn’t change the fact that its bite can still turn you into another zombie. Yes, you might be able to kill it, but, it’s still just as capable of killing you as one thousand zombies would be.

Think of a lone zombie like a lone person with a gun. Would you underestimate them? If not, then, don’t think of a lone zombie as anything different.

All it takes for a single zombie to kill you is for you to be careless, for you to be unobservant, or for you to be unlucky. All it takes is one.

To properly deal with problems in a zombie apocalypse, we need to understand them. That knowledge is crucial to our survival. We need to understand the nature of living people to survive, it only makes sense that we also need a good grasp of the nature of dead ones, too.
