The Walking Dead: World Beyond premiered on Sunday but did everyone survive the episode?
On Sunday, Oct 4, another new chapter in the #TWDUniverse made its television premiere with The Walking Dead: World Beyond. It will only last two seasons, but World Beyond joins the flagship show (which will end in season 11) and FearTWD, which is starting season 6 next week.
The new show boasts a diverse group of characters, with each likely having qualities someone can relate to. However, there have also been some traumatic events that led to these characters becoming who they are.
There weren’t any human deaths in the series premiere of The Walking Dead: World Beyond but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t any bloodshed in the episode. Here is who died in episode 101.
Deaths in TWD: World Beyond episode 101:
- Walkers: Some walkers are seen being killed in this episode, but not many. There was a small group eliminated by the CRM near the meeting place with the school bus, one was hit by a vehicle, a few were killed during the “day the sky fell”, and Iris took out one walker once the group was outside the community walls.
- Dr. K: Her full name wasn’t used, but she was often visited by Iris to talk about her nightmares. As a licensed therapist, she listened to problems and gave advice. Dr. K was on oxygen during one of Iris’ visits and the next visit saw the young woman found her therapist has passed on and become a walker. Guards were dispatched to put her down as Iris cried in the hallway.
- Kari Bennett: Kari was the mother of Hope and Iris. In a flashback to the “day the sky fell” it was a pregnant woman who wanted to take a truck away from the plane crash during the chaos. When Hope rushed the woman, she shot Kari in the chest, killing her.
- The pregnant woman: In another flashback, Hope retaliated following the death of her mother. She picked up the gun from the ground and fired it at the woman, dropping her to the ground. It was later revealed that the pregnant woman was Elton’s mother.
- The ENTIRE Campus Colony???: The walls of the campus colony came down in the final scenes of the episode and the CRM was seen finishing off everything moving inside the community. Perhaps they were no longer useful to the CRM or their existence was a strain on the organization, but much needs to be learned about why approximately 10,000 people were eliminated.
For a quiet episode, there sure was a lot of death. While only two humans were killed on-screen, the elimination of the Campus Colony makes sure the survivors must keep moving toward New York and plenty more adventure as The Walking Dead: World Beyond tells its story.
