Overall Impression of TWD 1016

There is a chance many fans will rank this episode of The Walking Dead among the best ever made by AMC. It is hard to argue that it isn’t based on the fact that it ticks just about every box needed to be a great installment in the series.

There was a little bit of everything: two characters returned, a new character was introduced, there was an epic showdown, and an intimidating villain met their doom. It was great to see everything going on in one episode.

It wasn’t a perfect episode, but it was more than entertaining. Most fans should feel like it was worth the long wait. Plus, it should mark the end of the Whisperer War, an arc that played out better than All-Out War.

Now, the focus will shift to the New World Order storyline if the show continues to loosely base the story on the comic book source material. Judging by the armored soldiers who met Eugene’s group at the trainyard, that looks to be the case for season 11.

EPISODE GRADE: 9.5/10
