It would be an understatement to say that Beta didn’t take to seeing the zombified head of Alpha on a pike. His anger and rage hit a tipping point when Rufus made a statement about who would become the leader of the Whisperers.

A seemingly loyal member of the group, Rufus was ready to kneel to Beta as the new leader but the conversation was cut short when Beta asked him to lean in and listen to the whispers from coming from the decapitated Alpha.

Beta “helped” Rufus to hear by pushing his face closer to the zombified head. He continued to push Rufus until his cheek was right next to Alpha’s mouth and she took a big chomp out of his flesh.

After being bitten, Rufus cried out in pain until Beta stabbed him in the back and allowed him to be devoured by the undead. It was an example of the new leadership the Whisperers were under and added even more terror to a group by adding unpredictability.
