The Walking Dead may now be in a world beyond, but, it can’t escape its past.

Welcome everyone, to the first installment of my newest series: Connecting The Dead!

In this series, I’m going to go over each new episode of the newest Walking Dead series, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, finding all the connections, both subtle and not so subtle between it and its sister series, The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead.

Unlike my Things To Note series, Connecting The Dead will dive a little bit deeper, looking into what these connections mean or (In a few cases) could mean further down the road.

Starting with this week’s episode, we already have a few callbacks to both Walking Dead and Fear, starting with its setting, something we saw when the CRM arrived at Campus Colony, Iris and Hope’s backstory, one of the communities Campus Colony is aligned with, and a detail we learned about Lieutenant Elizabeth Kublek, all of which can link back to something either seen, heard, or speculated about in World Beyond’s predecessors. I feel like the best place to begin is at the top, with World Beyond’s setting: Nebraska.
