3. Father Gabriel’s death scare

Coming in at number 3 is Father Gabriel’s fake-out death scare. From the moment season 10 episode 15 aired and promos were released for the finale all signs were pointing to Father Gabriel getting a hero’s death. Fans were insanely worried as more and more information came out and everything pointed in the direction of Gabriel getting killed by Whisperers.

When the time finally came, viewers held their breath as Father Gabriel decided to stay back and put his life on the line to save the children and everyone else who stayed behind. Fans see whisperers charge in and eventually overwhelm him and take him to the ground. For a moment it seems this beloved character is going to be gutted in front of our very eyes.

Then a group of people swoop in and save the day! It’s Maggie! Accompanied by what seems to be her personal bodyguard as well as the others they picked up along the way. Seeing Maggie finally back, and saving Father Gabriel is enough to bring fans to tears with overwhelming joy. Her masked partner seems to be an incredible fighter as well.

This moment on the list is unique because it goes from a very negative WTF to an insanely positive one within just a couple of short seconds. This is something that rarely happens on The Walking Dead so fans certainly need to savor this wonderful moment.
