5 WTF moments from The Walking Dead episode 1016

2. Commonwealth cliffhanger
It was very hard to choose between the top 2 moments. Coming in just a hair shy of the top spot is the tremendous cliffhanger that the finale left fans with. Yumiko, Eugene, King Ezekiel, and Princess being totally surrounded by a large armed group. The last image viewers are left with is a completely mortified Eugene. The look on his face says it all, he is frightened beyond belief and even violently shaking.
To folks who haven’t read The Walking Dead comics, this scene would be horrifying, it can’t get much worse than loved characters surrounded by an organized and heavily armed group. To comic readers, this moment might be met with cheers and applause. Which is exactly why it didn’t secure the top slot.
For non-comic readers who wish to not have spoilers skip to number one. In the comic series, these armed soldiers are part of the Commonwealth group, which has 50 thousand people in their community. This is the final arc in the comic series that results in the biggest death of them all, Rick Grimes.
The tv series is moving in a totally different direction so nearly everything about this arc can be vastly different, and build towards the future universe story rather than a more final ending. Only time can tell! Comic fans know this story is very rich and entertaining so fingers crossed it translates to screen.
