The Walking Dead, The Tower: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
11) Judith’s sudden sympathy for the female Whisperer — Her concern that she may have a family, etc. — may stem from the revelation that Rick survived the explosion at the bridge in his final episode, “What Comes After”.
12) Beta believing the walkers are talking to him is the first time we’ve this in The Walking Dead (Though, once again, the precedent was set in Fear The Walking Dead, this time by Nick Clark back in the season two episode, “Grotesque”).
13) As Negan attempts to convince Lydia to let out her grief by hitting him, he warns her that her grief will “…eat you up from the insides. Ju–just trust me on this.” Is that why Negan was so violent, because he could never properly grieve Lucille?
14) When Yumiko asked Princess if she wanted to join her, Eugene, and Ezekiel, no one bothered asking her Rick’s three questions, something which had become something of a standard initiation into any group affiliated with Rick following season four. You’d think, if anyone, the more logically-minded Eugene might have remembered to ask.
15) In a bit of visual irony, as the Whisperers approach the tower, you can see the broken sign above them reads “EMERGENCY“. I hope I’m not the only one who appreciated that.
And, with that, we’ve concluded our Things To Note for this week. Was there anything you missed? Was there anything I missed? Feel free to throw in your things to note in the comments!
