1) You’re not dead until you’re dead.

New York Yankees Hall Of Famer Yogi Berra is famous for saying “It ain’t over ’til it’s over”. While some might take this as nonsense, it’s actually one of the greatest bits of wisdom dispensed in the 20th Century, because what the man meant was quite simply: Never count yourself out.

There is no greater truth in a zombie apocalypse.

On the surface, one might think the onset of a zombie apocalypse means you’re doomed. But, so long as you’re still alive enough to even have that thought (And haven’t been bitten by a zombie yet), then, you’re still alive. You can keep going. You can keep living. You can survive.

I think too many people see the apocalypse as a sign to just throw in the towel, to give up, and accept death as inevitable. This is a mistake.

You see, while surviving a zombie apocalypse will not be easy, it is by no means impossible. If you have the determination, a little knowledge, a little luck, and the willpower, you are fully capable of outlasting the dead.

It’s that last one that’s important. All too often, we can be our own worst enemies, convincing ourselves we’ve lost when we’re still very much in the game. So long as you are alive, capable of moving, and capable of detecting what’s around you, you are capable of surviving.

You can learn how to find food. You can learn how to grow food. You can learn how to hunt food. You can learn how to detect the dead. You can learn how to protect yourself from the dead. You can learn how to fight the dead.

What’s stopping you? Nothing.

Do not listen to that voice that tells you to give up. Do not listen to that voice that tells you you’re doomed. And, do not listen to that voice that tells you can’t do it.

You’re not dead until you’re dead. Until that happens, you can survive.
