5) So long as you have the strength left in you to fight, keep fighting.

As I mentioned earlier, I spent a decent bit of my time watching this week’s episode of Fear The Walking Dead believing that Morgan was going to die. He was grievously wounded, weakened, exhausted, and, until Isaac removed the bullet from his shoulder, slowly dying.

But, you know something? When confronted with walkers and the bounty hunter, Morgan kept on fighting. With one arm, Morgan fought off a dozen walkers, with one arm, he fought and killed the bounty hunter, the whole time, believing that he wasn’t far from death’s doorstep.

The reason I bring this up is, well, in a zombie apocalypse, there may come a time when you’re in a situation not too dissimilar from Morgan’s. You may be wounded, injured, beaten, maybe even dying, but, none of those are excuses to give up fighting.

Whether it’s zombies or hostiles, so long as you have to ability to fight them, you should do it, and make every second of that fight count.

With zombies, the alternative is letting them tear you to shreds, and…I can’t really think of a worse way to go. As for hostiles, they’re trying to stay alive, too, and so, if you can make that goal of staying alive and destroying you as costly as you can, you might as well do so. Either way, there’s nothing that says just because you’re in terrible shape, that you’re guaranteed to lose. If you fight like your life depends on it (Which it will) then, regardless of the condition you’re in, there always exists a chance that you can win.

No matter what, even if it takes you to your last breath, you have to keep fighting to survive. It’s all we can do. It’s what we all must do.
