4. Morgan kills a human

Some of the moments in this premiere are broken down further, for the sake of this list because they have different symbolic meanings. This number is solely the act of killing another human, which alone isn’t as shocking as the things that preceded it. Still for Morgan to kill a human after the past two seasons of development is a huge WTF moment.

It’s very important to remember, Morgan Jones has been around a very long time in The Walking Dead universe. This kill and the brutal quick nature of it, it certainly big but we have seen bigger from Morgan. Richard, Jared, the savior whose guts he bathed in at the Kingdom when he ripped out his intestines while he was alive, to name a few.

This isn’t even the first time he has killed when in his more peaceful state. He will defend his life and the lives of his friends if it’s life or death. In The Walking Dead, he shot and killed the Savior who was about to kill Carol and saved her life. So while fans may forget from time to time, Morgan Jones can be a brutal killer no matter what headspace he is in.

Part of what makes Morgan killing Emile so shocking is the abruptness of it, he didn’t hesitate for a single moment. He didn’t give a speech, plead his point, or hold a conversation, he simply did the deed. Morgan killing a human again marks a big turning point in his story, and fans can’t wait to see what comes next.
