- Episode title: “The Key”
- Air Date: Nov. 1, 2020
This week’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead focused on John Dorie as he assumed the job of a lawman under Virginia’s watch. John wasn’t alone in this episode, as it also had some other familiar faces such as Morgan, Victor, and Janis.
It also featured a reunion between John and June. It was essentially a way of paying off John after Virginia covered up a murder in the community and didn’t want the truth about the situation to come out.
Here are the named characters who died:
Cameron (Noah Khyle) – Getting tangled in a fence isn’t much fun. Getting eaten by walkers while trapped in that fence is an even worse situation. The zombified version of Cameron was put down by John. Virginia claims he must have gotten drunk and fallen into the fence but the lawman made it his focus to track down what really happened to him.
Janis (Holly Curran) – Known as the woman the group saved at a gas station in season 5, Janis was blamed for the death of Cameron when an earring found at the place of his death matched one found in her bag. This was obviously a plant by Virginia, but Janis was executed anyway by hanging her from a tree and letting walkers eat her legs while music blasted from a stereo.
Other notable deaths
Two unnamed characters (Stephen Brodie and Joseph Castillo-Midyett) – The two strangers looking for the key and spraypainting the walls met their doom in this episode after colliding with Morgan on the road. Using his staff, Morgan sliced open one of their guts with the ax portion of his staff and stabbed the other through the chest with the pointy end.
Some walkers – John Dorie dealt with the undead eating Cameron at the fence and encountered some walkers when digging up Cameron’s body to inspect the corpse for clues as to who killed him. The ones at the fence were easy, but watching John struggle with the undead landing on top of him in the grave was a scarier situation.
