The Walking Dead: Where Connie stands after season 10

Where did The Walking Dead’s season 10 finale leave Connie going into season 11?

The good news is that Connie is alive. Everything else is uncertain. What does that mean for the fan-favorite in season 11 of The Walking Dead?

Against all odds, Connie somehow survived both the cave collapse and getting separated from Magna in the middle of the Whisperer horde. The last we saw of her, Connie was on her own, stumbling around in the woods. In her only scene in the season 10 finale, she looked so bloodied and covered in dust that she could easily be mistaken for a walker.

Trying to make her away out of the woods and back to the communities, Connie collapsed once she reached the road. As she laid there, Virgil suddenly appeared on horseback. The two stared at each other for a moment and then the scene ended.

Given that the two most likely don’t know each other, it isn’t clear what is going to happen with Connie. The last we saw of Virgil, he was insane, trapping Michonne and other people on his island simply because he was lonely with his family gone. While Michonne’s mercy may have taught him a valuable lesson, the man clearly isn’t stable, so Connie isn’t necessarily in the clear just yet.

For now, Connie has to hope that Virgil has learned his lesson from his time with Michonne and will finally do the right thing to help others. Daryl, Kelly, Magna, and many others are eagerly awaiting her return, so we can only hope that Virgil will help Connie out and bring her back to her family and friends.

Without a doubt, Connie’s inevitable return to the survivors will be an intensely emotional one. She and Kelly have one of the strongest sibling bonds we’ve seen on the show and their connection over Kelly’s struggle with hearing loss was a moving one throughout season 10. Emotions will be running high if the two sisters see each other again in season 11.

And then there’s Daryl. From the moment they left to go rescue Henry from the Whisperers in season 9, Connie and Daryl have had undeniable chemistry. Whether it’s Daryl learning ASL to communicate more effectively with her or his devasting reaction to losing Connie in the cave collapse, it’s clear that Daryl and Connie care deeply for one another. It remains to be seen whether their relationship turns romantic or not, but the moment they (hopefully) reunite in season 11 is sure to bring tears to the eyes of everyone watching.

With a strong connection to many of the show’s key stars and a fanbase that adores her, Connie will almost certainly play a significant role in the upcoming final season of The Walking Dead. We don’t know if we can trust Virgil quite yet, but it is almost certain that Connie will make her way back to the survivors in one way or another.
