2. Alpha creates a border fence

The Whisperers are terrifying. It is hard to choose specific moments from their group that are terrifying since Alpha and Beta are two of the most intimidating villains in the history of the television show’s existence.

However, it was a moment that didn’t really involve either of those characters that may have put the Whisperers ahead of the survivors. After repeatedly not listening to the rules for a border, Alpha and her group let everyone know just how serious the Whisperers were by creating a physical border.

That border was made up of heads on pikes. The horror of seeing these heads as the survivors walked over the horizon line is one thing, but not knowing if your favorite survivor was among those killed to create this border had to have most fans very afraid.

The large number of named character deaths was one thing, but watching the reactions of the survivors discovering their dead friends had been used as pawns by Alpha and Beta had to be a wake-up call to the characters and viewers alike.
