The Walking Dead cast and crew celebrates the show’s 10th anniversary

It’s hard to believe that The Walking Dead debuted on Halloween night in 2010, and ten years later it is going strong. It’s a special time for the cast and crew as they look back fondly at the zombie show that premiered with great anticipation. Would it find an audience? Would people like it? Would it last more than a season? Well, I think we know the answer to that….

One of the key reasons that The Walking Dead has been so popular is that it’s more than a show about zombies. It’s a show about people, about family, about survival in incredibly difficult circumstances, and it’s also a show about the decisions we make and how those decisions determine the people that we are. It was never just about the zombies, and over the years the threats grew worse and worse, showing that it’s often other people you need to worry about and not the undead.

The show gained an immediate audience and was granted a second season quickly so that fans knew more of the story was on its way. Over the years the show has seen beloved characters come and go, but the love for the show is stronger than ever.

The TWD cast and crew still come together at fan events (which are online these days because of the pandemic) so fans can still see their favorite characters who may have been lost over the years. The sense of family is strong in the fandom, with cast members always looking back fondly on their time on the show no matter how much time has passed.

Members of the TWD cast and crew celebrated the big event with posts on social media:
