1) Realize That You’re Not Perfect

The first step to fixing yourself either before or during a zombie apocalypse is to realize this universal truth: You are NOT perfect. NOBODY IS.

This is important, because if you’re convinced on some level that you can’t get any better, you’re setting yourself up for failure a couple of times over.

For starters, this kind of mentality can build up a false sense of security, which is something you really can’t afford in a zombie apocalypse, as it may cause you to fail to recognize a no-win scenario, and wind up getting yourself killed or eaten when you could have just retreated or found another way around the problem.

On top of that, it can leave you blind to things you need improvement on, which, once again, can set you up for failure, as you find yourself lacking a skill or a way of looking at things that you never bothered considering, because you didn’t think you needed to work on it.

If you want to survive, you need to throw away any preconceived notions you may have of being perfect, because it simply isn’t true. You will always need improvement, you will always need to get better, and there will always be the possibility that you can screw up. The sooner you accept these realities, the sooner you can get to actually improving yourself.
