Fear The Walking Dead, Survival Rule Of The Week: Fix yourself first

3) When You Know You’re On The Wrong Path, Change Course
The difference between a stubborn person and a stupid person is the following: A stubborn person will persist on doing what they know is right, even if they meet heavy resistance. A stupid person will know, deep down, that what they’re doing is wrong, but will continue to do it anyways, until it ultimately consumes them.
The thing is, changing course from the wrong path is, simultaneously, the easiest, and hardest thing to do.
On the one hand, once you’ve figured that you are on the wrong path, it’s a simple matter of choosing to do something different. There will likely be other options than doing whatever erroneous thing you’ve been doing, so, in theory, you just have to start doing one of those things.
On the other hand, even if a person is aware they’re going in the wrong direction, there’s a good chance that they may feel that they’re in too deep to go back, and may choose instead to see their course through to the end, for better or for worse.
All of that said, if you do find yourself going in the wrong direction, you owe it to yourself to stop, you owe to anyone you’re with to stop, because…it will not end well. You can always pull back from the cliff, there is nothing saying that you have to jump off.
Don’t just keep doing the wrong thing because it’s what you’ve been doing. If you see the opportunity to veer off, and stop doing the wrong thing, take it…before it destroys you.
