Utopia Originals teams with Reedus’ bigbaldhead productions to adapt horror film

The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus recently launched a new company, bigbaldhead productions. Now his production company is teaming up with Robert Schwartzman’s Utopia Originals and Shout! Studios in a TV adaptation of the cult horror classic Sorority House Massacre.

Sorority House Massacre is a slasher movie from1986 that follows an innocent sorority sister who is being stalked by an escaped mental patient. The film was given negative reviews saying that the storyline was too similar to Halloween, but despite that, it has garnered quite the cult following. This film is considered part of the “Massacre Collection” that also includes The Slumber Party Massacre series, Cheerleader Massacre series and the four Sorority House Massacre films.

Deadline first reported the announcement of the partnership with Utopia and Shout! Studios. Reedus posted the news on his Instagram account.

Reedus recently launched his production company, bigbaldhead productions, and has already signed a first development deal with AMC. In addition to films and TV production, there will also be a branch of the company that will partner with Blackstone Publishing and will focus on book publishing.

With his work on The Walking Dead and his own show Ride with Norman Reedus, and now his spin-off of TWD series, it seems natural that he would sign something with AMC for his production company.

Projects in the works at bigbaldhead productions include a book series entitled Unknown Man and the adaptation of the comic book series Undone by Blood into a TV show.

Fans are excited to see what’s to come for his character Daryl Dixon in season eleven of The Walking Dead.  Then his next series will be a spin-off of TWD that is centered around Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier.
