1) As the episode begins, we see a walker crushed beneath a tree. How did it get there? Paige mentions the lumberyard, suggesting this area is not far from it, and she’s part of the logging crew, there’s no possible way they were so clumsy as to get one of their team crushed by that tree, is there?

2) Virginia’s interrogation of Paige reveals that the Pioneers have recently been seeing The Beginners’ slogan, “The End Is The Beginning” (Which is, in fact, seen on the fallen tree the aforementioned crushed walker is beneath) across their territory. How long they’ve been aware of The Beginners, though, we don’t know.

3) Judging by Paige’s refusal to answer Virginia’s questions about The Beginners (Not even so much as a denial), her mentioning the future, and her willingness to so quickly resort to suicide all but confirms her membership in The Beginners. If this is indeed the case, she’s the first named member of the cult.

4) Paige is the tenth named character to die this season, and the third Beginner to die thus far.

5) This episode gets its name from Virginia’s instructions to Hill after Paige kills herself: “See what she’s got. On her person, back at the bunkhouse. Check her belly, see what she’s ate. Maybe it’ll be a clue, maybe it’ll be cookie’s mush. Then bury her next to Jasper’s leg.
