4) A Change In How We See The World Can Do A World Of Good

In the last season of Fear The Walking Dead, we watched Alicia go through a transformation: She took Morgan’s philosophy to heart and decided to try going down a less selfish, less violent path. Honestly…I think it’s done her a lot of good.

It’s also done a few other people a lot of good. For example, in season four, Ed wouldn’t have lasted long enough to confess his mistakes to Alicia, but, thanks to her new outlook, even with the way he “introduced” himself to Alicia (Injecting her with animal tranquilizer), she was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Another person who benefited was Dakota. Originally, Alicia was going to trade Dakota to Virginia in exchange for her and Charlie’s freedom, but, the downfall of the hunting lodge (And, a little insistence from Ed that her plan was not going to work out the way she thought it would) made Alicia realize that she couldn’t, in good conscience, trade Dakota like a bargaining chip to a person she, apparently, hated. She decided that, wherever she and Charlie went, Dakota was going to go with them.

She even managed to get Morgan to see the light, refusing to come with him if he went through with the same plan she chose to reject.

The point is: Alicia chose to change the way she viewed and interacted with the world around her, and, though it took a little cajoling, chose to stick by that choice, and be better to people by doing so.

You need to try to make the world better if you can, not do piddling shit so you can pat yourself on the back, but, actually try to make things better, even if it’s only something as small as treating other people better. In a world as dismal as a zombie apocalypse, the more good there is, the better off everyone else is.
