Fear the Walking Dead renewed for season 7
AMC announces that Fear the Walking Dead has been renewed for season 7
After rave reviews for season 6, Fear the Walking Dead has been renewed for season 7. The news isn’t exactly a surprise, because Scott M. Gimple hinted that work was already happening on the next season, but it’s welcome news given that the pandemic has thrown filming schedules out of whack and now fans know that season 7 will be in the works.
The news arrived by way of a fun video that features the number 7 being prominently displayed across many iconic western-themed images. There is a billboard, playing cards, dice and even wood in a fire pit that forms the number 7.
Most telling is the Texas traffic sign that suggests that the show will remain based in the Lone Star State for the new season. The show films in Austin, of course, but the action has moved around the region a great deal in recent seasons.
The first seven episodes of season 6 have aired, and the show is currently working on the remaining episodes. The release date for the back half of the season hasn’t been announced yet, but knowing that The Walking Dead 10C is coming February 28 then it’s possible to speculate that Fear the Walking Dead 6B could arrive as soon as April if AMC chooses to run the shows back to back.
Naturally, fans are eager to see what happens in the second half of season 6 after the mid-season finale that ended with Alicia going to join Morgan and Virginia revealing that she has been keeping a very pregnant Grace locked up in Lawton.
There’s also the matter of the mysterious group of people spray painting “The end is the beginning” across the Texas landscape. These people are making Virginia very nervous, and if Virginia is nervous then there is every reason to be concerned.
