3. Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (2010)
This is a weird horror movie for several reasons. It is based on an archeologist’s dig in Finland where they dig so deep that they find Santa Claus. Then, strange things start happening to the children of the area and the people are forced to investigate.
The plot is unlike anything seen before. The townspeople are trying to capture Santa to bring him to their corporation while the elves are fighting back to keep their leader safe and return him to his rightful place.
Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale is definitely worth a watch. It is a nice break from some of the more traditional Christmas movies or horror movies and delivers an interesting look at Santa in a well-acted and produced film.
The only downside for some people would be that the movie is in Finnish and subtitled in English. Plus, the fantasy aspect of the holiday season is played up pretty hard. If those don’t bother you too much, check this movie out!
