What gifts might the The Walking Dead bonus episodes deliver?

In this season of making wish-lists and shopping for deals, it seems a fitting time to lay out what it is I most hope for from the Walking Dead season 10 bonus episodes that are coming our way in February.

The very fact the episodes were never meant to exist in itself shows they are a gift to the audience. Created just to fill the gap left when normal filming was unable to restart due to COVID restrictions, they are simply a treat for the loyal fans to keep us going through these dark months.

The very nature of the filming and storytelling they were able to undertake during this time means these episodes are out of the ordinary, and appealing to fans’ long-held wishes.

For years fans have clamoured to know what happens in between seasons. We’ve wanted to be let into the downtime that happens offscreen in between the big world changing events in regular episodes.

With these season 10 bonuses, we have 6 episodes that give us a window into that space; a breather that lets us sit awhile with the characters between the fire and fury of season finales and season premiers.

In that way these episodes are already fulfilling fan wishes, but as I said tis the season, and what better time to hope for a little more than we deserve, and believe that we might just get something if we wish hard enough.

So to that end, here is my wish-list, my Santa letter to AMC and Angela Kang for what I hope for from these gifted episodes that exist to help take the edge off a pretty miserable year.
