Andrew Lincoln’s latest project, Penguin Bloom, has released its first trailer.
Fans of The Walking Dead are excited to see that leading man Andrew Lincoln has a new project. With so much disappointment about Rick Grimes leaving the series, fans are anxious to see him in anything. His latest project, Penguin Bloom, where he stars alongside Naomi Watts, is set to release in January 2021.
Penguin Bloom is based on the true story of Sam Bloom (Watts), whose life was altered forever when she suffered an accident while traveling in Thailand. Lincoln plays her husband Cameron, and this story follows the Bloom family and everything they had to endure when this accident changed their family dynamic forever.
Then enters in an unexpected stranger who gives this family hope when they thought all hope was gone. The Blooms rescue a magpie, who they name Penguin, that had fallen from its nest, and in return, the bird saves the family as Sam and the bird form a bond that helps them both heal.
The film is an adaptation of the book of the same title written by Cameron Bloom and Bradley Trevor Grieve.
Below is the official trailer for the film, and it looks like it will be one you don’t want to miss.
It was recently announced that Netflix has added this film to its lineup and will release it on January 27 in North America, UK, France, and some Asian countries.
After Lincoln left The Walking Dead, there was much chatter about possible Walking Dead movies, with Lincoln reprising his role as Rick Grimes. Now the pandemic has messed with so many filming plans that it is hard to tell if/when these movies will come about. Fans are very vocal about wanting to see these movies, so hopefully, AMC can make these happen.
In the meantime, there are two places you can see Lincoln in action. He will portray Scrooge in an Old Vic: In-Camera production of A Christmas Carol. This production will be live-streamed, and you can obtain your ticket on The Old Vic website.
The second is a holiday-themed filmed staring Lincoln. Love Actually, a wonderfully fun holiday film, stars Lincoln as Mark, who is in love with his best friend’s wife. This all-star cast includes Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightly, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Bill Nighy, Laura Linney and Alan Rickman. The film has nine intertwined storylines and is a fun and emotionally charged holiday film.
Be sure to catch Lincoln in Penguin Bloom on January 27 on Netflix as well as A Christmas Carol this holiday season.
