3) Even People You Think You Can Trust, Aren’t Always Trustworthy.

Am I the only person who was bothered by the fact that Lieutenant Colonel Kublek kinda…neglected to tell Huck (Her own daughter, by the way) that she had Campus Colony destroyed while Huck was away? I can’t be, right?

I mean, you’d think that, of all the people in a zombie apocalypse, you could trust your mom, right?

Well, apparently (At least in The Walking Dead: World Beyond, anyway), you can’t, though, this is because Huck’s mom is a sketchy member of the sketchy military arm of the sketchy government of a large group of people, so, it isn’t exactly universal, but, you get my point, right?

The truly sad thing is…it’s not that inaccurate. There are people out there who may have friends or family members that…they simply can not trust. Whether it’s because the person in question is manipulative, narcissistic, has substance or psychological problems, or, in the case of Kublek, is just a sketchy person who thinks the ends justify the means, you can not, and should not trust them. They may not necessarily intend to hurt you, but, as I said a couple entries ago, sometimes, something as simple as a left out detail can mean the difference between life and death. All it takes is someone having done something they know you’ll get angry about — Using up necessary supplies, making a deal with hostiles behind your back, leaving a group member behind, drawing the attention of hostiles or zombies, etc. — and lying to you about it, for you to wind up getting ambushed by what they did, at a time when you need it the least.

Sometimes, the people you should be able to trust the most…are the ones you can trust the least.
