Now’s a great time to binge Fear The Walking Dead, World Beyond
With a few month before TWD returns, it’s time to binge Fear the Walking Dead, World Beyond
The winter can be a harsh place for The Walking Dead fans given that all of the shows in the TWD Universe are on hiatus, and after a brutal 2020 that saw the shows’ regular schedules upended by a global pandemic, it has been a while since fans have been able to see new episodes of The Walking Dead. Now is a great time to get caught up on the other shows in The Walking Dead Universe if you haven’t been watching them already.
Fear the Walking Dead was recently renewed for a seventh season after receiving lots of praise for the first half of season 6. If you haven’t been keeping up with the show, season 6 features the group trying to come back together after being split up by the mysterious Virginia. The only problem is that while Virginia sees her actions as a means to save the people she watches over, there is another group out there threatening their way of life.
You can catch up on the first five seasons of Fear the Walking Dead on Hulu, and you can watch the first half of season 6 on AMC’s streaming apps.
There has also been a lot of buzz surrounding the newest spinoff in the TWD Universe, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, which follows a group of young people on a mission to save their father. Iris and Hope’s father went with CRM (yes, the helicopter people) to do research at their top secret location in New York, but he’s in danger and they’re trying to save him.
World Beyond has lots of connections to the greater TWD Universe, including some very insightful looks at the people who took Rick Grimes. While Rick has not – nor will likely ever – appear on the show, it sets up a great deal of mythology for the upcoming Rick Grimes movies.
You can catch the entire first season of World Beyond on AMC+ and AMC Premiere.
The pandemic threw all of the TWD shows’ schedules into disarray, but the good news is that The Walking Dead will return for season 10C (the bonus episodes) on February 28, and work is underway on the second half of Fear TWD season 6 so those episodes should be available shortly thereafter.
Now’s a great time to get caught up on both shows if you’re not caught up already. Not only will you be ready to go when the shows return in 2021, but you’ll have lots of TWD content to keep you occupied until February.
