4. Hope was the asset

The asset is something that was talked about very few times and around it was a lot of secrecy. For the majority of the series, fans were told that Iris was incredibly smart, class president, and an overall big go-getter. She focused on the future and tried to make the best of it. So when the conversation of the asset shifted to being a person, many assumed that it would be Iris. Even Hope herself discredited her abilities thinking that she was a disappointment to everyone.

Looking back and taking a closer look at Huck, it’s easier now to see that it was Hope all along that the CRM wanted. From the start fans could see that Huck and Hope had a special bond, Huck was a mentor to Hope and kept a very close eye on her. What viewers didn’t see coming is that it wasn’t a genuine relationship after all.

Speaking of smarts, considering how Hope was painted throughout the series, it was a shock to learn that not only is she smart but she is child prodigy level smart, and that is with or without her sister’s help. While Iris is just as intelligent, Hope managed to crack the CRM code alone and figure out what was going on.

Unfortunately, this revelation also comes at a huge turning point in the story. Hope doesn’t even have time to be happy in the fact that people view her as valuable, instead she is forced to make insanely tough decisions and potentially never see her family again. Any upside these episodes have are swiftly crushed.
