1) Gloria And Her First Victims

Okay, Gloria being infected is pretty obvious, as her reveal is the linchpin of Fear The Walking Dead’s first opening scene, what isn’t so obvious is what happens after Nick sees her.

But, I’m getting ahead of myself, so, let’s back up a minute…

When Nick first gets up and starts looking for Gloria, he hears a scream coming from somewhere on the ground level of the church. Which of her victims this is is tough to tell, as we can’t necessarily judge how long it’s been from when Nick hears the man, but, I’m inclined to go with the second.

Judging by what Nick sees and hears (Like the clang Nick hears before the scream) as he looks for Gloria, I think it played out like this: After turning, Gloria caught her first victim by surprise (Backed up by how his body is positioned, as if she caught him just as he came down the stairs), but, as Nick sees, she only mauled the first guy’s neck a bit (And, when undisturbed, we’ve seen the infected spend lots of time eating people’s guts), so, this suggests her other victim saw her, ran to his “room”, where Gloria followed and attacked him after his attempt to stab her failed, crying out as she did so.

Nick finding Gloria, and running away from her, is the last we see of her or of the people she ate, but…that isn’t the last of them.

When Travis and Madison go to investigate the church, neither Gloria nor her victims are anywhere in sight. Obviously, the three of them must have gotten out and began walking the street of Los Angeles (Judging by the fact Travis found no other way in, they probably got out the same way Nick did), even if they were killed by someone later, their disappearance from the church suggests that, at least for a little while, they were out and about and biting people. How many they potentially infected, we can’t know, but, I think it’d be naive to assume it was zero.
