When will Fear the Walking Dead season 6 be on Hulu
Fear the Walking Dead is halfway through season 6 and won’t be on Hulu just yet
After all of the buzz surrounding The Walking Dead Universe, especially the stellar sixth season of Fear the Walking Dead, you might be wondering when you can watch the newest episodes on Hulu. The answer is complicated.
Unlike the early seasons of The Walking Dead, which find their home on Netflix prior to the start of an upcoming season, Fear the Walking Dead calls Hulu its home. There you can find the first five seasons of the show, but don’t expect to see season 6 there any time soon.
New seasons of shows don’t make their way to streamers like Netflix and Hulu until the entire season has aired. This will make season 6’s arrival on Hulu take even longer because the pandemic shut down production toward the end of the first half of the season.
Even though Fear TWD has resumed production in recent weeks, it will likely be spring 2021 at the earliest before those episodes air. Add to that some time on AMC’s new platform AMC+ and that could put Fear the Walking Dead on Hulu in fall 2021.
While it might make sense to put the first half of the season on Hulu sooner, AMC is trying to leverage its new streaming service by making it the only place to watch the newest episodes of shows like Fear TWD and The Walking Dead, as well as the newest show in the franchise, TWD: World Beyond.
Many fans used to count on a show’s move from TV to a streaming site to get caught up before new seasons come out. The changing nature of the streaming landscape has made it so that networks and studios want to keep their content in-house as much as possible before sending it to streamers.
