3) Jake’s Mom

At the beginning of Fear The Walking Dead’s first webisode, Flight 462, we were introduced to Jake Powell, who was a passenger on the ill-fated flight. One of the things we learned about him was that his mother was at Los Angeles International Airport, originally planning to join her son on the plane, but, the last seat was taken by a young woman named Alex. The last we hear from her is that someone at the airport was “upset”, their screams being overheard in the background of the call, before abruptly having to hang up the phone on her son.

What I would like to see is what happened next.

I want to know why was the woman we hear in the background of her call to Jake screaming? Was she seeing infected? Were they approaching the airport? Were they already in the terminal? What happened after she hung up? I want to know.

I feel like airports make for a strange and unique setting in a zombie apocalypse, as they’re often crowded and confusing, and, if what was happening at LAX was what I think was happening there, it would have magnified both of those problems.

It would be interesting to see if she survived inside the airport and, if so, how; I mean, you’d figure that an airport would be a nightmare in a zombie outbreak, so, it would be interesting to see what a person or small group of people could do to ensure they survived. Honestly…I can’t even think of where you’d go to escape zombies in an airport, so, to me, the very idea of trying would be terrifying.

I also think that seeing the beginning of Flight 462 from the perspective of someone on the ground would be a nice way carrying on that story through the eyes of one of the only characters from those webisodes whose fate we never got to see.

Of course, who knows if coronavirus restrictions in L.A. would even allow for such a thing to be filmed…
