The Walking Dead holiday: What’s in Daryl’s stocking?
If The Walking Dead characters received stockings, what would you give Daryl?
It’s hard to carry over traditions from before the apocalypse into the post-apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead. Though the holidays might be remembered by those who experienced them, it doesn’t mean we can’t have fun thinking up ways to mix traditions and TWD. So if you were going to give a Christmas stocking to Daryl, what would be in it?
Supplies
Now that Daryl is a leader of the survivors, there’s nothing he wants more than to be able to take care of them. After wiping out the Whisperers, the survivors need to regroup. A nice discovery of supplies would be a welcome thing. (Perhaps the Whisperers have a few secret caches of supplies?) Maybe Santa can lead him to a bunch of supplies so that they can prepare for whatever is next.
Stronger Bonds
Daryl and Carol had some ups and downs in their friendship throughout season 10, and for Christmas Santa might give them a little nudge so that bygones can be bygones and they can move forward even stronger than before.
The past is always hard to forget, and even though Daryl is one who can overlook the past to focus on the future, it’s hard when there are reminders of the past at every turn. After the battle with the Whisperers that ended a tragic passage in Carol’s story, it’s a good time for them to look toward building a better future for the survivors together.
News About Rick
At this point Daryl knows that Michonne is on a mission to help some people but he doesn’t know the full extent of what she’s doing. Michonne knows full well that if he knew that there was a chance Rick was alive, he’d leave to help her. The problem with that idea, though, is that he’s in charge of watching over Judith and RJ and he can’t leave them alone. But a message from Michonne about Rick would be nice.

Daryl and Rick were like brothers and losing him was a major blow for Daryl. He never believed that Rick was dead, so maybe learning that Rick might be alive would be the motivation he needs to really take charge and lead the survivors into the next phase of building a new future.
