What New Year’s resolutions should Eltonmake on The Walking Dead: World Beyond?
The Walking Dead: World Beyond debuted in 2020 and made an immediate impact on the mythology of the greater TWD Universe. While all of the characters came a long way on their personal journeys of self-discovery, it was Elton (Nicolas Cantu) who perhaps learned the most about himself and these New Year’s resolutions will help him to harness all that he’s learned in the first season.
You’re Stronger Than You Know
For Elton, all of his training has been theoretical thus far. Sure, he practices martial arts and he understands everything you need to know about empties and survival, but he hasn’t been tested the way he has been during his journey outside the Campus Colony.
He went after Silas on his own, and he rescued Percy by himself. He proved that he’s capable of surviving on his own, but he needs to remember it. He can’t forget how capable he is.
Believe In Family
Elton’s childhood ended when he lost his parents at the beginning of the apocalypse. When Hope revealed the truth about his mother, he was devastated to know his mother killed Hope’s mother and that Hope killed his own mother. Until that point, he’d been reveling in having a family again.
He must not forget his family. He must hold on to the family that he has created and work to reunite with them. When he finds Iris and Felix, they need to find a way to rescue Hope and Silas as well, because that’s what family does.
Learn From Percy
For the moment, Elton is traveling with Percy and Percy is probably the best teacher Elton can hope for. While Felix errs on the side of caution, Percy knows what the real world is like and he can teach Elton so many things that he wouldn’t be able to learn on his own.
With Percy’s guidance, Elton will be able to emerge from the current situation stronger than ever before. He has found his self-confidence, and thanks to Percy he will be able to know when you can trust people and when you can’t.
