What New Year’s resolutions should Strand make on Fear the Walking Dead?
Victor Strand, played to perfection by Colman Domingo, is back in fine form on Fear the Walking Dead. Unlike previous seasons, season 6 Strand has secured a position of power but it came with a great cost. Now that he’s on the outs with his friends but he’s also in Virginia’s inner circle, these New Year’s resolutions should help him get back on track in the second half of season 6.
Choose A Side
Strand has always been the kind of man who likes to keep his options open. Prior to his arrival in Lawton he was concerned with keeping two people safe above all: Himself, and Alicia. However, after some choice politicking on his part he alienated Alicia and now he’s all alone.
He could probably keep going as one of Virginia’s right hand men, but as we all know communities rise and they fall. Things don’t look good for Virginia in the long term, so does he really want to attach himself to her?
Protect Grace
Strand is the only person who knows where Grace is. She’s about to give birth any moment, and he should keep her safe at all costs. Why? Because he’s the only one who can protect her until she can escape or be rescued. While Strand might not seem to care about anyone else right now (which I don’t believe), Grace is helpless and he could give her the support she needs.
Pull A “Strand” And Save The Day
Though Strand will always have the con man in him, over the years he has discovered the true value of being surrounded by people he loves and people who love him. Virginia isn’t someone who loves him. She can give him power and opportunity, true, but her own interests will always come first.
The biggest resolution Strand can have in 2021 would be to remember who he is, and that he can’t turn his back on the people who care about him. Yes, they’re hurt by his decisions but he can right the wrong by showing them that he cares by helping them escape Virginia’s grasp.
