Fear The Walking Dead, Survival Rule Of The Week: The Things You Need
By Liam O'Leary
3) A Toolbag (With Tools In It, Obviously).
You’re going to have so many things that you’re going to need to do in a zombie outbreak, and, trying to do them all with your bare hands (Especially something with our last entry) is just impractical. This is why man invented tools.
Whether you’re hunkering down or bugging out, you’re going to need to do things — Boarding up windows, fixing pipes, wiring fixtures, repairing roofs, taking things apart, etc. — and, to do those things, you’re going to need tools to do them with.
Ideally, you’d have things like a hatchet, a hammer, an awl (All of which can double as weapons against zombies, by the way), a set of Philips-head and flat-head screwdrivers (A set of small screwdrivers, too), a set of wrenches, a monkey wrench, a socket set, needlenose pliers, linesman’s pliers, wire cutters, bolt cutters, and a saw, at the very least. There are other tools you may need, but, I think, if you have the ones listed here, you’re off to a good start.
If, at some point, you have to abandon your home, despite fortifying it, having all your tools in one place is also a great way of making sure you don’t lose any in your rush to get out of dodge, because, there’s a very good chance that, wherever you go, there’s almost certainly going to be something that needs some kind of repair or maintenance, and, if you’ve got a decently stocked toolbag, you’ll probably have the means of fixing it.
